Bildarchiv Kaprun Museum
Dieses Bildarchiv wird demnächst durch eine von der Gemeinde Kaprun betriebene Topothek ersetzt, in der Zwischenzeit wünschen wir Ihnen viel Freude beim Betrachten der Bilder von Oberlehrer Rauch, welcher in den 1920er und 30er Jahren in Kaprun gewirkt und das Leben und die Leute mit seiner Kamera verewigt hat.
Die Taurotte beim Hausebauern. Für die Deckung des Wäsche- und Kleiderbedarfs war die Flachsgewinnung und –verarbeitung von großer Bedeutung. Bis nach dem ersten Weltkrieg war die Leinwanderzeugung im Bauernhaus allgemein der Brauch. Die Flachs- oder Leinenfaser wird aus den Stängeln der Flachspflanze gewonnen. Nach überlieferter Tradition wurde Flachs am 100. Tag ausgesät, also so zwischen dem 15. April und dem 1. Mai. Der Samen zeigte schon nach 100 Stunden die ersten Keime. Etwa 100 Tage später - je nach Witterung - war der Flachs reif zur Ernte. Im Juni blühte er meterhoch und reifte im Juli. Der reife Flachs wurde mitsamt der Wurzel ausgerauft, damit nichts von der wertvollen Faser verloren ging. Meistens noch am selben Tag brachte man die Flachsbündel an einen Ort, wo der Boden feucht und wasserhaltig war. Man breitete sie auf dem Feld aus und von nun waren sie der Witterung - Regen und Sonne - ausgesetzt. Man nannte das die Taurotte. Die Schwaden wurden einige Male umgedreht. Trocken heimgefahren, blieb die Flachsführe bis in den Herbst unberührt.
