Bildarchiv Kaprun Museum
Dieses Bildarchiv wird demnächst durch eine von der Gemeinde Kaprun betriebene Topothek ersetzt, in der Zwischenzeit wünschen wir Ihnen viel Freude beim Betrachten der Bilder von Oberlehrer Rauch, welcher in den 1920er und 30er Jahren in Kaprun gewirkt und das Leben und die Leute mit seiner Kamera verewigt hat.
Schon im Winter 1894/95 baute man einen ersten Steg durch den damals „Auer- oder Krapfkessel“ genannten Durchbruch der Kapruner Ache beim Bürgkogel. Am 9. Juli 1895 wurde sie als Sigmund-Thun-Klamm eröffnet. Schon zu Josef Rauchs Zeiten musste der Klammsteg jeden Herbst abgetragen werden, um ihn vor der winterlichen Vereisung zu schützen. Im Frühjahr bauten ihn mutige Zimmerleute wieder auf. Von Zell am See aus fanden tägliche Wagenfahrten zur Klamm statt und weiter bis zum Endpunkt der damaligen Straße, dem Kesselfall, so sich ebenfalls eine Steganlage befand. Die Begehbarkeit der Klamm endete 1938. Erst 1992 wurde die Klamm auf Initiative des Vereins VSF (Verein zur Schaffung spezieller Freizeiteinrichtungen) reaktiviert und eine neue Steganlage gebaut, die sich
am historischen Vorbild orientierte. Bis heute ist der VSF für die touristische Nutzung der Klamm zuständig, jährlichwerden bis zu 180.000 Besucher gezählt. Hier: Der Einbau der Eisenträger mit Wasserwaage. Auf die Holzleiter musste man sich stellen, um von einem Träger zum nächsten zu kommen.
